The role will include, but not limited to:
Teach piano lessons to students including music theories and demonstrate performance skills.
Instruct students on performance and give them constructive advice and feedback.
Plan, prepare and evaluate lessons, activities and adopt appropriate teaching strategies and methods to meet individual needs.
Conduct consultation/interview lessons.
Help students in preparing for performance and examinations/assessments.
Develop learning and teaching associated resources that stimulate students’ interests and meet the needs of students at different skill levels.
Provide a safe, secure, and stimulating environment in which consideration is given to all the students’ individual development.
Utilise positive and supportive behaviour management strategies that are conducive to effective learning and teaching.
Maintain good communications with parents to support ongoing practice and learning.
Accompany students to attend performances, and competitions if needed.
Actively attend relevant courses, seminars, webinars, workshops., etc for continued professional development if required.
Fulfill other duties as reasonably required by the Director.
Hours of Work:30 hours per week
Requirements:
A NZQF Level 6 or higher qualification in music/music performance is required.
A qualification with a specialisation in piano/piano performance is preferable.
Attention to details and a hard-working attitude.
Excellent work ethic and great time management.
Excellent communication skills.
Team player and passion for the industry.
