This job is required to perform: (specific duty tasks)
- Oversee day-to-day restaurant operations, ensuring all areas function smoothly and efficiently, from front-of-house to back-of-house.
- Conduct regular training sessions and performance evaluations to foster staff growth and enhance service quality.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to design and update menus that reflect current culinary trends, guest preferences, and seasonal ingredients.
- Ensure menu items are cost-effective and meet quality standards, contributing to the overall success of the restaurant.
- Set departmental targets and objectives, aligning them with the overall vision of the restaurant.
- Prepare and manage budgets, monitoring expenses and revenue to achieve financial goals while maintaining high operational standards.
- Maintain exceptional levels of customer service by training staff in effective communication, problem-solving, and hospitality skills.
- Regularly assess and adjust service delivery to meet and exceed guest expectations.
- Recruit, manage, train, and develop a skilled restaurant team that aligns with the restaurant's values and goals.
- Address guest queries and concerns in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring resolutions are satisfactory and in line with company policies.
- Actively seek feedback from guests to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
- Regularly evaluate guest satisfaction levels through surveys, direct feedback, and observations, focusing on continuous improvement.
- Implement initiatives to enhance the dining experience based on guest insights and market trends.
- Promote environmentally sustainable practices within the restaurant, such as reducing waste, sourcing local ingredients, and conserving energy.
- Staff roster management to ensure optimal coverage during peak and off-peak hours, considering employee availability and skill sets.
- Educate the team on the importance of environmental responsibility and encourage their participation in sustainability initiatives.
- Assist other departments as necessary, fostering a collaborative work environment and maintaining good working relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to address operational challenges and identify opportunities for improvement.
Job requirement: applicant must meet following requirement to apply for this job
- At least three years experience on restaurant/cafe manager position
- Or above NZQF Diploma in relevant major
- Good communication skill, time management, and high standard personal hygiene
Minimum work hours per week is 30 hours. Location is 1087 Hinemoa Street.
