Our dishes are prepared using fresh, high-quality ingredients and presented with elegance in a setting rich in Thai colors, sounds, and art. Meals are served family-style, allowing you to share the Thai experience with friends, family, colleagues, or associates.

We are looking for a skilled cook to join our team.

Requirements

  • At least two years of relevant work experience.
  • A New Zealand Register Level 4 qualification may substitute for experience (overseas qualifications must be comparable to New Zealand standards).
  • Knowledge of Thai food ingredients.
  • Familiarity with Thai cooking techniques.

Job Descriptions

  • Prepare and cook a diverse range of authentic Thai dishes, such as curries, stir-fries, soups, and grilled delicacies.
  • Ensure all dishes uphold the highest standards of flavor, quality, and presentation in line with Thai culinary traditions.
  • Utilize traditional Thai cooking techniques, ensuring the correct use of herbs, spices, and sauces.
  • Uphold strict hygiene practices in the kitchen and comply with food safety regulations.
  • Oversee inventory management, ensuring the availability and freshness of premium Thai ingredients.
  • Contribute to menu innovation by assisting in the development of new dishes and refining existing recipes.
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment efficiently and in a safe manner.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to maintain smooth and timely food preparation.
  • Comply with workplace health and safety standards to ensure a secure kitchen environment.

Other details

  • Employment type: Full-time, permanent position.
  • Pay rate: $26.50 to $30.00 per hour, depending on your skills, paid weekly.
  • Benefits: Holiday pay and sick leave as per New Zealand employment laws.
  • Location: 1 Riccarton Road, Riccarton, Christchurch.
  • Work schedule: Roster-based, 5–6 days per week, with a guaranteed 30 hours per week (maximum 40 hours).
