Requirements
- At least two years of relevant work experience.
- A New Zealand Register Level 4 qualification may substitute for experience (overseas qualifications must be comparable to New Zealand standards).
- Knowledge of Thai food ingredients.
- Familiarity with Thai cooking techniques.
Job Descriptions
- Prepare and cook a diverse range of authentic Thai dishes, such as curries, stir-fries, soups, and grilled delicacies.
- Ensure all dishes uphold the highest standards of flavor, quality, and presentation in line with Thai culinary traditions.
- Utilize traditional Thai cooking techniques, ensuring the correct use of herbs, spices, and sauces.
- Uphold strict hygiene practices in the kitchen and comply with food safety regulations.
- Oversee inventory management, ensuring the availability and freshness of premium Thai ingredients.
- Contribute to menu innovation by assisting in the development of new dishes and refining existing recipes.
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment efficiently and in a safe manner.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to maintain smooth and timely food preparation.
- Comply with workplace health and safety standards to ensure a secure kitchen environment.
Other details
- Employment type: Full-time, permanent position.
- Pay rate: $26.50 to $30.00 per hour, depending on your skills, paid weekly.
- Benefits: Holiday pay and sick leave as per New Zealand employment laws.
- Location: 1 Riccarton Road, Riccarton, Christchurch.
- Work schedule: Roster-based, 5–6 days per week, with a guaranteed 30 hours per week (maximum 40 hours).
