Stonemason

We are hiring for OSTON STONE GROUP LIMITED, a professional stone fabrication and installation company based in Auckland. We specialise in the manufacturing and onsite installation of premium quality stone kitchen benchtops. We undertake projects across the North Island, predominantly in the Auckland region. We are now looking for experienced Stonemasons to join our expanding team.

Job Title: Stonemason

Job Location: Auckland

Number of positions available: 5

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Working Days: Monday to Saturday, between 7:30am to 6:30 pm (may require weekend or public holiday work)

Hourly Rate: $27.00 - $30.00

Hours per Week: Guaranteed minimum 30 hours per week, up to 50 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Reading plans and interpreting technical drawings to determine stone cutting, shaping, and installation specifications
• Cutting, grinding, polishing, and shaping stone benchtops in the factory using power and hand tools
• Onsite installation of stone kitchen benchtops, ensuring alignment, levelling, and structural integrity
• Applying adhesives and sealants, and securely anchoring stone elements
• Lifting, transporting and fitting heavy stone slabs with the aid of lifting equipment and team members
• Performing quality checks, finishing, and edge profiling to ensure top-grade product delivery
• Repairing, replacing, or finishing existing stone surfaces when required
• Adhering to workplace safety procedures, lifting protocols, and site requirements
• Maintaining cleanliness of the workspace, tools, and equipment in both factory and onsite settings

Requirements for applicants:

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in stone masonry, stonemason benchtop installation, or a related trade
• OR completion of a relevant qualification/certification in stonemasonry or a construction-related field
• Proven experience with stone cutting, edge finishing, polishing, and fabrication using hand-held and fixed machinery
• Familiarity with kitchen benchtop materials such as engineered stone, quartz, granite, and marble
• Must be physically fit and capable of lifting and handling heavy materials
• Must be safety conscious and understand site compliance protocols
• A valid driver’s licence and ability to travel to multiple job sites are highly preferred
• Must demonstrate strong work ethic, punctuality, and attention to detail
• Must be a good team player with a positive and professional attitude
