Our Client in south Auckland is looking for an experienced Cook & Chef, to join their Authentic Indian Cuisine.

Minimum 30 hours and Maximum 40 hours Guaranteed for the week.

$28.00 - $35.00 Per hour

COOK

Responsibilities:

Supervise the production of dishes including snacks and masalas, monitor quality, and ensure presentation to the highest standards;

Ensuring stock is ordered and equipment maintained to ensure a smooth operation of his kitchen section.

To manage relevant sections of the kitchen by preparing a designated range of menu items according to recipes and within budget.

Skills and requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years' relevant experience.
  • Excellent understanding of food hygiene guidelines.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work efficiently.

Duties:

  • Assisted the Head Chef in creating menu items and recipes, developing the menu, and designing and analyzing recipes.
  • Estimate and determine the ingredient requirements then prepare the order.
  • Prepare, cook, and season food.
  • Prepare base sauces for Indian dishes daily and check the quality of all base sauces.
  • Preparing sauces, dips, and accompaniments.
  • Store raw and cooked food in appropriate containers and in temperature-controlled facilities.
  • Portion food and plate & Garnish and add sauces to food.
  • Be a strong team player and fit into a tight-knit team.

CHEF

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Chefs to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for:

  • Food Cost Management: Monitoring and managing food costs to ensure efficiency and profitability.
  • Food Preparation: Preparing high-quality dishes from our all-day breakfast menu with attention to detail.
  • Cleaning: Maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment at all times.
  • Ordering: Managing inventory and ordering supplies as needed to ensure the kitchen is well-stocked.
  • Café / Event Management: Assisting in the day-to-day operations of the cafe, including supervising kitchen staff.
  • Quality Control: Ensuring that every dish meets our high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Multitasking: Effectively managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Chef in a similar environment minimum 3 years OR Level 4 Qualification is required
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation, kitchen operations, and food safety standards
  • Excellent time management and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work early mornings and weekends
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
