Short Description

We are currently seeking a multi-disciplined Fire Technician knowledgeable and skilled in the inspection, repair, maintenance and testing of portable firefighting equipment. In addition, you should have a passion and flair for delivering industry-based training.

You will be part of a dynamic team responsible for the effective delivery, installation, and maintenance of hand-operated firefighting equipment throughout Wellington and the surrounding region.

Role Overview

  • Ensure portable fire equipment such as portable extinguishers, hose reels, etc., are inspected and tested according to NZ Standards, client and company expectations, and contractual obligations.
  • Complete and provide evidence of maintenance performed on portable fire protection systems and equipment in an accurate and legible manner.
  • Be proactive in providing assistance to other employees and sub-contractors.
  • Provide HOFFE quotes ensuring HOFFE units are replaced and tested as set out by NZ Standards.
  • Promote and deliver industry-based training to our existing and new customers.
  • Ensure that all maintenance work is carried out as per the relevant contract.
  • Liaise with clients and/or their representatives to discuss/resolve any issues arising from maintenance contracts.
  • Conduct all tasks in accordance with the company quality system.

Role requirements include:

  • Relevant Trade Qualifications or a minimum of three years field experience within the fire industry.
  • Excellent ability to build effective relationships with clients.
  • Skilled at identifying and recommending cost-effective solutions.
  • Availability to participate in a rotating on-call roster.
  • Excellent communication skills to clearly relate with clients and peers.
  • Current Full Driver Licence.
  • A solid knowledge of the applicable New Zealand Standards relevant to HOFFE.
