The Opportunity
Intermediate to Senior Level Engineering Geologist.
Our client is a specialised engineering consultancy in niche field on complexed infrastructure. Due to increased demand, they are seeking an experienced Engineering Geologist to joined their team.
The Role
We are looking for an Engineering Geologist with approximately 5-15 years experience. This role will involve both office and site-based work on challenging and complexed infrastructure and we need someone who doesn't mind working in the outdoors, onsite and spending time away from home which will be compensated for.
The primary focus will be working closely with drillers, on-site conducting Rock logging, installing instruments, photographing, recording and reporting and general Geologist investigation duties, which is critical to the success of this highly complexed project. You will be based on site for two weeks, flown home in the weekend, then back in office for a week until the project reaches construction phase later in the year. Don't worry you won't be alone, you will be working with an experience team and housing will be provided.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, motivated to learn, and excited to work alongside experts in the engineering field. You will have the opportunity to work on diverse projects, supporting site investigations, geotechnical analysis, and much more. This is a collaborative working environment, and you will cross over and work with other specialised business units.

- 5 to 15 years of experience in Engineering geology (with strong rock logging experience)
- New Zealand experience is a requirement for this role due to the projects complexity and intensity.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, especially in challenging outdoor environments
- Comfortable working in cold, wet conditions and supervising drillers on-site
- Experience on projects such as hydropower, Tunnelling, Underground Rail or related Heavy Civil Infrastructure.
- A team player with a collaborative approach to working across different function
- Relevant Qualification in Geology or similar field.
