Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare traditional Chinese dishes such as char siu rice, pork rib rice, and more.
- Ensure the freshness, quality, and proper storage of ingredients such as seafood, rice, vegetables and so on.
- Portioning of food, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes;
- Coordinate with Chefs and other kitchen staff on food preparations such as marinating, making sauces, etc.
- Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements;
- Checking the food and ingredients stocks and ensure quality;
- Securing food and ingredients are stored in temperature-controlled facilities;
- Assisting in receiving incoming goods from suppliers;
- Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment;
- Ensuring all equipment and work environments are operational. Report any damaged or non-operational equipment;
- Imparting knowledge and may train other kitchen staff and apprentices; Adhering to the policies and procedures i.e. uniform hygiene. Assist in the creation and updating of the restaurant’s menu, suggesting new dishes and recipes.
- Provide training and guidance to junior kitchen staff on proper sushi and Japanese culinary techniques.
- Maintain and ensure inventory control, including ordering and stocking of ingredients needed for Japanese cuisine preparation.
- Handle special dietary needs or requests from customers, ensuring they are accommodated appropriately.

- Days required: 5 days/week (must be available on Saturday or Sunday)
- Hours per week: at least 30, maximum 55 hours/week
About You
- Qualification is not required. MUST have relevant five years work experience in Chinese restaurant.
- Understanding of food safety, sanitation standards.
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and cleanliness.
- Ability to communicate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure a smooth operation.
