We are a busy restaurant in Ohakune and we are now hiring 3 Cooks.

Work location: Whanganui-Manawatu

Length of employment: Full time and permanent.

Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week (Minimum 30 hours guaranteed)

Payrate $25.00 to $29.66 per hour

Job duties of the position offered:

• examining foodstuffs to ensure quality
• regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment
• preparing and cooking food
• seasoning food during cooking
• portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes
• storing food in temperature controlled facilities
• preparing food to meet special dietary requirements
• may plan menus and estimate food requirements
• may train other kitchen staff and apprentices

Requirements of the position offered:

• NZQF Level 4 qualification in fields relevant to cookery, or at least 2 years’ relevant work experience
• Be available to work on weekends and public holidays as per the roster
• Flexibility to work within a 7-Days a week operation including split shifts
• Be able to work in a fast-paced environment with good communication skills and team spirit
• Able to work till late evenings
• Can pass drug test and have a clean police record
