Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity

The Downer South division is highly respected and has a great track record for delivering a high standard of work across the country. We are looking for an experienced Network Inspector(s) to provide support within the Rangitīkei District out of our Marton and Taihape depots.

As a Network Inspector with Downer NZ, you’ll be our eyes and ears - responsible for identifying and logging faults of network carriageway and corridor assets. Your day-to-day tasks will include:

• Road inspections, recording fault defects and proposing suitable solutions
• Identification of risks and corrective actions where required
• Audit completed work by own crews and third-party contractors with a focus on quality and safety
• Assist in the development of maintenance programmes and provide support to our maintenance team
• Ensure project operations achieve a superior level of safety performance
• Provide support to field staff on field programming tools such as Pocket RAMM.
• Occasionally assist with call-out work.
• Occasionally take part in pilot programmes to test new technology to enhance the way we inspect the roading network.

Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills

You will be a physically fit and motivated person and will bring with you:

• A Full Class 1 New Zealand driver’s licence
• Ideally, you will have experience in road maintenance, road construction or a similar field
• Experience in network inspection and fault identification is beneficial
• Clear communication skills with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
• Experienced in RAMM software or the ability to learn computer systems
• Commitment to a high standard of Health & Safety
