Baker

We are seeking two dedicated and talented Bakers, who are passionate about baking and customer service to join our team! The ideal candidates will have experience in a bakery environment and be prepared to contribute their skills to create delightful baked goods while ensuring exceptional customer experiences.

Required Qualifications or Experience

Minimum 1.5 years experience OR Level 4 qualification

Key Responsibilities

• Perform temperature checks on both hot and chilled products to ensure quality.

• Take customer orders, serve customers with a friendly demeanour, and address their queries effectively.

• Maintain an appealing display of bakery items, especially during special occasions.

• Package and price various baked products, including breads, rolls, cakes, and biscuits.

• Efficiently pack cakes and cut cake slices as needed for packaging.

• Handle customer enquiries and complaints, escalating to management when necessary.

• Knead, mature, cut, mould, mix, and shape dough and pastry goods.

• Prepare pastry fillings and monitor oven temperatures and product appearance to determine baking times.

• Check the quality of raw materials and weigh ingredients.

• Ensure the cleanliness of equipment and operation of premises before production runs to comply with occupational health and safety regulations.

• Make fresh cream products and icing/decorate cakes to perfection.

• Glaze buns and pastries and decorate cakes with cream and icing.

• Coordinate the forming, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning, and cooling batches of bread, rolls, and pastry products.

• Operate machines that roll and mould dough and cut biscuits.

• Empty, clean, and grease baking trays, tins, and other cooking equipment.

• Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed.

• Maintain records of production and inventory.

• Prepare and bake a variety of cakes, cupcakes, pies, and other baked goods.
