Job Description

Location: Royal Auckland and Grange Golf Club, Auckland, New Zealand

Overview: Royal Auckland and Grange Golf Club is a high-end private members' club seeking an experienced Café Supervisor to oversee café operations, ensuring exceptional service standards are consistently delivered. The ideal candidate should ideally have over 4 years of experience, preferably within an upscale or private members' club environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Staff Management: Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise café staff to foster a high-performing and cohesive team.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee daily operations including opening/closing procedures, inventory management, quality control, and adherence to health and safety guidelines.
  • Customer Service: Deliver personalised service to members and guests, understanding and anticipating their expectations.
  • System Proficiency: Effectively operate DotGolf and Lightspeed Kounta POS systems. While training can be provided, familiarity with these or similar systems is strongly preferred.
  • Event Coordination: Assist in managing café-related functions and events, including large-scale bookings for over 100 people.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience, ideally in a supervisory capacity within an upscale café or private members' club environment.
  • Essential experience specifically within a private members' club F&B setting due to the unique demands:
    • Understanding of member expectations for personalised service and meticulous attention to detail, distinct from typical café environments.
    • Proven ability in effective communication and relationship management with a discerning member base.
    • Familiarity with etiquette, decorum, and the operational intricacies of an exclusive club.

Training Opportunities Provided:

  • Comprehensive Health and Safety training at the start of employment.
  • Employee handbook and standard procedures for member interactions and inquiry management.
  • Specialist F&B training is facilitated by the Club Management Association every two years.
