Purapura Whetu and Odyssey House Christchurch are looking for a Team Leader to lead our team delivering Alcohol and Other Drug programmes at Christchurch Mens Prison. We work together operating the Tu Manawa Ora Service , delivering holistic health and wellbeing programmes within a multi-disciplinary team to support tangata whaiora affected by problematic alcohol and other drug (AOD) use challenges.

You will support and lead a team of clinical, peer support, aftercare and whānau workers, providing a multi-disciplinary approach to working with our client group and work in collaboration with other prison-based teams to provide the best possible treatment options for our clients.

In this role, you will be

  • Leading a multi-disciplinary team of clinical, peer support, aftercare and whānau workers
  • Demonstrating your proven clinical ability in the AOD practice space , a knowledge of community based services and supports would also be beneficial.
  • Using a strengths-based approach
  • Liaising with stakeholders
  • Facilitating team meetings and contributing at a wider organizational level
  • Facilitating groups and individual interventions as appropriate

To be successful in this role, you will

  • Hold a Registration with an allied health profession such as Social Work, OT, NZAC, DAPAANZ etc
  • Have excellent organisational skills
  • Have experience leading a team
  • A good understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • Strong knowledge of Matauranga Maori practice approaches as clinical modalities
  • A non judgmental approach to working with tangata whaiora
