Senior Geotechnical Engineer | Napier

We have a wonderful opportunity for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer within our team in Napier.

The North Island’s east coast has a complex geological environment with high seismicity and a relatively low population density. This role is to support a range of regionally based projects that predominantly support our local transport and infrastructure needs. Your New Zealand experience will allow you to develop cost effective, fit for purpose engineering solutions and is vital for this role.

As a senior member of the geotechnical team, you’ll play a key role in guiding and mentoring the rest of the team.

This role will give you the opportunity to combine your project management skills with your passion for Geotechnical Engineering & Engineering Geology to ensure clients’ needs are met, adding value to WSP clients as well as the wider teams.

Please note this position is based out of our Napier office and includes a significant amount of site based work. For this reason we require successful applicants to based in Napier or within reasonable travelling distance to commence this role.

About You

  • A tertiary qualification in the field of Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering
  • CPEng or progression toward this
  • Demonstrable landslide remediation design experience
  • A broad skillset working on a diverse range of projects
  • Excellent report writing, communication, and client facing skills
  • 7+ years of professional experience in the field of Geotechnical Engineering
