Thai Cook

SNN THAI SUNSHINE LIMITED, T/A Thai Sunshine restaurant, is located in central Gisborne. We provide excellent-quality Thai food for tourists and local people. We now need a Cook to help us maintain our high-standard service and food quality. This is a full-time job with guaranteed hours of 30 per week, but you will normally be required to work around 40 hours.

The job involves the following tasks and duties:

• Preparing and cooking all the dishes offered by the restaurant

• Seasoning food during preparation and cooking, when necessary

• Monitoring the quality of food at all stages of preparation, cooking and presentation

• Assisting in improving dishes

• Assisting in managing the overall operation of kitchen

• Assisting in ordering supplies and stocks

• Ensuring kitchen’s operation complies with hygiene and safety regulations.

To qualify for the job:

• At least 3 years of work experience in the kitchen, or at least level 4 relevant qualification, or a Bachelor’s Degree in any major.

• Be familiar with Thai Food.

• You may be required to work during the weekend.

• Have a can-do attitude and be able to work under pressure since our restaurant is extremely busy during peak hours.

• You should also have good attention to detail to ensure everything that goes through your hand is thoroughly clean.
