About the Role
The Gastroenterology Research Department at Waikato Hospital is looking for an experienced clinical Trial Coordinator. The successful candidate will join our existing experienced team in providing research centred participant care.

- Experience in the coordination of care in their clinical practice, is desirable
- Works inclusively with others and has a patient centric approach
- Previous Respiratory experience will be an advantage, but is not essential
- Previous Research experience is essential.
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
- Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings
Key responsibilities:
- Co-ordinate investigator initiated, collaborative and pharmaceutical trials ensuring all processes required, are completed in a timely manner to commence studies.
- Develop and prepare all necessary resources and documentation to efficiently enrol patients onto clinical trials as per the trial protocol
- Prepare and negotiate budget for new and existing clinical trials (includes reviewing the draft budget prior to submission to the Sponsor to ensure no study procedures have been missed and adequate treatment times have been allowed). This will help to ensure the ongoing financial performance of clinical studies undertaken within the Unit
- Contribute to relationships and liaise with collaborative and external organisations.
- Adhere to Good Clinical Practice (GCP), the Respiratory Research Trials Unit's standard operating procedures (SOP) and Te Whatu Ora Health New Zealand (Waikato) policies and procedures
